From our humble beginnings on a single university campus in 1963 with just one volunteer, EvaSUE staff have demonstrated a long history of selfless service and commitment under challenging circumstances. We live simply and share generously with our students. In Ethiopia’s challenging socio-political environment, our campus staff are courageously moving forward to serve students at significant personal cost, often facing daily hardships and physical risks. Our staff are the frontline catalysts, mentors, and teachers who equip student leaders. They are the most vital link in our strategy of multiplying student ministers in order to advance the Kingdom of God on college campuses throughout Ethiopia.

However, EvaSUE can currently provide only one campus staff member for every 750 students involved in our fellowships. Our campus staff are widely spread out across the country and often hard-pressed as they seek to guide, equip, and serve so many students and student leaders. Our current staff salaries average $2,600 per year. Due to soaring inflation and rising fuel and travel costs, this is no longer sufficient for survival. Consequently, we are aiming to increase all salaries by 40% in 2023-24 to address this urgent need and better support our frontline workers.
